Do you want to help welcome new students to the UBC Sauder community? We're hiring students for Imagine Day and The Spark 2024!

  

We're looking for individuals who:

  • embody the UBC Sauder Spirit
  • are passionate about making sure every new student feels welcome in the UBC Sauder community
  • exemplify UBC Sauder’s core values of rigour, respect, and responsibility
  • know how to have responsible fun with a good sense of judgement
  • love being a UBC Sauder student!

What will orientations look like this year?

We are planning to deliver a fun orientation experience. Help welcome 600+ new-to-Sauder students this orientations through Imagine Day and The Spark!

 

Ignite: Virtual Pre-arrival Orientation (July 23, 2024)

On July 23rd, we are hosting a live virtual orientation called Ignite! This is a great opportunity to prepare for your arrival and to meet your classmates. We will introduce you to an academic advisor, current students, a professor, and to your class! This event is open to all new to UBC Sauder (first year and transfer) students.

We are hosting two sessions to accommodate different time zones:

  • Tuesday, July 23 at 7:30AM (PST)
  • Tuesday, July 23 at 6PM (PST

 

Jump Start (August 27 to 30, 2024)

  • Register by June 27 via this link: you.ubc.ca/jump-start-vancouver
  • The above dates reflect the residence stream. The Collegia (commuter) stream will run August 30 – September 1, 2024)
  • For all newly admitted first-year students
  • Students will participate in group components to help them make friends and feel prepared to start their academic journey at UBC

 

Imagine UBC (Tuesday, September 3, 2024)

  • For all newly admitted first-year and transfer undergraduate students
  • Students will meet a faculty member and other new UBC Sauder students, be officially welcomed by the Dean, participate in a pep rally, and learn about involvement opportunities across campus

 

The Spark (September 6 and 7, 2024)

  • For all new-to-UBC students which includes students admitted to Year 1 and transfer students
  • We are planning for an in-person experience in which students will be in groups with others in their cohort, participating in fun games and small group activities.
