COVID-19 Update for the CLC/David Lam Management Research Library
COVID-19 SERVICE UPDATES:
Physical Space Closure
The Canaccord Learning Commons and David Lam Management Research Library (including all of the computer labs) will remain closed until further notice.
The Library has launched an on-campus pick-up service to enable UBC students, faculty and staff to access items in the collection that are not available in electronic format. For more information on how to access print and electronic collections, please visit the library website.
The library has cancelled late fees from March 16 until the situation changes. Even if you are unable to renew your items, no fines will be charged. For updated information on fines, please visit the library website.

Communications Coaching is now available remotely. Details about booking online/phone appointments is on the Communication Development Program website.
Peer Assisted Study Sessions & Math Coaching are available via Collaborate Ultra within the Canvas courses for which these programs are offered. Students can find information on Canvas about the session schedule. Please visit the Math Coaching website and the PASS website.
There are no Excel workshop(s) or office hours offered this summer. Student can find updated information on the WDIAC website.
David Lam Librarians are available to provide research help virtually via Zoom from 1pm-4pm from Mondays- Fridays. Please see more information on the Research website.

The Canaccord Learning Commons (CLC) and David Lam Management Research Library is a hub for UBC Sauder students.
The Canaccord Learning Commons provides support for all UBC Sauder School of Business students – including BCom’s, MBA’s, MBAN’s, MM’s, B+MM’s, PhD’s, DAP, and all other degree programs – with learning support services, resources, and opportunities to hone the skills that will make them successful in the classroom and in the working world.
Reasons to visit the CLC
- Access coaching services, including writing and research help, and subject specific support

- Borrow equipment, including laptops, cameras, projectors, and chargers
- Find group and silent study spaces or reserve a bookable group study room

Head, David Lam Library and Canaccord Learning Commons
As Head of the David Lam Library and Canaccord Learning Commons, my role is to manage the staff, services and collections of the learning commons and library. As part of the reference and instructional team, I also am available to help BComs with their questions around finding secondary research.
As a librarian, my passion is helping give BCom students access to every intelligent business information resource that the Library has to offer. These can be used for projects, career research, interview preparation, and more. I handle our digital databases and also teach information literacy classes, so feel free to approach me if you have any questions and suggestions!
Investment Labs Coordinator
As the Investment Labs Coordinator, I am in charge of the Digital Media Lab, Leith Wheeler Investment Research Lab, and Wayne Deans Investment Analysis Centre. I also oversee the workshops run in these spaces and student staff who work in the labs. Whenever you want to investigate more of the specialized computer programs available at the CLC, please do not hesitate to approach me!
Circulation and Graphics Assistant
I am the Circulation and Graphics Assistant at the Learning Commons and Library. I work on digital media, book displays and other fun projects like the rooftop garden. My focus is on ensuring the CLC is a comfortable and welcoming place for everyone. You’ll often see me helping students at the service desk - if you come by please say hello!

Student Services Coordinator
As the Student Services Coordinator, I am responsible for coordinating activities associated with the daily operations of the Canaccord Learning Commons programs and services. My role is diverse, as I oversee the CLC program registrations and attendance, room bookings, equipment purchasing and lending, and help support our wonderful student assistants at the Learning Commons service desk. I am always happy to hear suggestions and feedback from our patrons!
As a librarian, my role is to support UBC Sauder students with their research and to help them learn how to access and find business information. I am also responsible for purchasing materials for the library such as electronic and print books, journals, databases, etc. Students may also see me teaching information literacy in some of their classes as well as providing reference help.
