COMM 453 - Financial Accounting-Advanced

This course covers the accounting and reporting of liability and equity accounts under both the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Canada’s Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE). Additional topics covered are the calculation of basic and diluted earnings per share and the preparation of cash flow statements.

Learning objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

  • account and report for a range of liability and equity accounts under both IFRS and ASPE.
  • calculate basis and diluted earnings per share and prepare cash flow statements.

Prerequisite: All of COMM 353, COMM 450.
