COMM 383 - Innovation Leadership (formerly COMM 386D)

You will be introduced to frameworks from the social sciences that are useful for understanding organizational innovation processes and learn how to apply these frameworks to particular situations. Through a sequence of readings, cases, and experiential exercises you will learn both the theory and practice of leading organizational innovation.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will have:

  • A sharpened ability to diagnose and solve a broad range of organizational innovation challenges from the perspective of an innovation leader.
  • Understanding how to lead a start-up.
  • The knowledge and skills to lead innovation efforts in more established organizations.

Note: Formerly numbered COMM 386D. If you've completed the course as COMM 386D, you are not permitted to take it again as COMM 383 (you cannot receive credit for the same course twice).
