COMM 466 New Venture Design Demo Day

COMM 466 New Venture Design (NVD) is a six-credit interdisciplinary course that will give you the knowledge and practical experience to produce a viable product prototype, and a business plan to ensure its success in the marketplace.

Sauder Social Entrepreneurship Kenya information session

Sauder Social Entrepreneurship (SSE) provides a unique opportunity for UBC students to use business education as a means to produce a positive impact and help young Kenyan entrepreneurs succeed.

SSE Kenya is a student-led, four-week course delivered in Nairobi each summer. Participants learn about other cultures, how businesses are created and grow in different contexts, and the role of education, mentorship, and volunteerism on economic development.

Tec de Monterrey Social Innovation Summer Program

Earn three credits while working on a challenge-based learning project for Mexican NGOs and indigenous communities. Work with local indigenous artisans, rural communities on safe water systems, or an ecotourism centre. Contribute to the local community through challenge-based learning projects. Partner with fellow students, local communities and civil organizations to create innovative solutions to social problems facing vulnerable populations in southern Mexico.

Help finalize UBC's strategic plan

UBC is in the final stages of a comprehensive strategic planning process. The new plan will serve as a road map, helping us focus even more intently on our core activities of learning and research.

Between November 23 and December 8, you are invited to join a dialogue to help validate the emerging plan, as well as explore ideas of how to bring the plan to life. Attend an open house and/or complete an online survey to help build a plan that will influence our university for years to come.
