COMM 466 New Venture Design Demo Day

COMM 466 New Venture Design (NVD) is a six-credit interdisciplinary course that will give you the knowledge and practical experience to produce a viable product prototype, and a business plan to ensure its success in the marketplace.

Learning Analytics Hackathon

Calling all open data and learning analytics enthusiasts! The University of British Columbia is hosting its 3rd Learning Analytics Hackathon on March 10 & 11, 2018. This hands-on event is open to students, faculty members, researchers—and anyone who’s interested in learning more about data analysis and exploring how data can improve student learning. Innovative ideas or designs could become part of UBC’s Learning Analytics project.

No prior experience working with data is necessary. Optional mini-workshops will be offered to participants in two streams:


Financial wellness workshop: Filing Taxes – Why It’s Important

Join Enrolment Services Professionals (ESPs) and the Each One Teach One program for this introductory session on income taxes, tax credits and benefits, taxes and working part-time, and tax resources. This session is for students who are filing taxes for the first time and want general information.

2018 World's Challenge Challenge UBC Finals

Watch finalists present on a global issue and solution before a panel of judges. Finalists not only get a chance to win up to $2,000 for their projects, but also could get the opportunity to present their ideas at the International World's Challenge Challenge!
