The Peter P. Dhillon Centre for Business Ethics is accepting applications for the 2018 CFA Ethics Challenge. The student team will consist of 3-5 members that will represent UBC Sauder at the provincial competition in January 2018.
In 2014, the CFA Ethics Challenge was established with a mission to improve students’ presentation and decision-making skills, as well as expose students to real-world ethical issues.
Students are given an ethics case which they then have approximately 4 weeks to analyze with the help of a faculty coach. Students will present their recommendations to a panel of judges and are evaluated on the basis of their proposed plan as well as their adherence to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics & Standards of Professional Conduct.
The team of UBC Sauder students will, first, compete at the provincial level in January 2018 where they have the opportunity to advance to the national championships which will be held in Vancouver, B.C. in May 2018. Winning teams from each province will compete for the title of National Champion of the CFA Ethics Challenge and a prize of $500 per team member.
Applications will be accepted until Friday October, 27, 2017.
Applications can be sent to Christie Stephenson, the Executive Director of the Dhillon Centre, at email@example.com. A resume, transcript, and statement outlining students’ interest in the competition is required.
