Navigating the UGO

Why wait in line? The UGO can answer your questions online!

In addition to in-person services and resources, the Undergraduate Office (UGO) has expanded its online services to provide more efficient and timely information to BCom students. Here are some helpful online links and resources to help you through the school year.

UGO FAQs

Find answers to questions such as:

  • Can I change my option after I choose it?
  • What courses do I need to be promoted?
  • What do I need to know about writing exams?

Course planning worksheets

Navigating your BCom degree can be intimidating, but it doesn't need to be.

  • These BCom course planning worksheets help you keep track if your courses are aligned with your program requirements so promotion requirements are met as planned.

Academic concessions

Know your rights and responsibilities.

  • Learn about what is considered as valid grounds for an academic concession before submitting your request.

Tuition and fees

Find out when tuition fees are due and which payment methods are accepted.

  • Your Enrolment Services Advisor (ESA) can help you with any questions regarding financially-related matters at UBC. Get the help you need and find your ESA on Workday Student. Use the "Actions" button on your  profile, scroll down to “Student Cohort” and select “View Support My Network

Transfer student information

Are you confused about transfer credits and not sure what courses to take?

  • Review the information here if you are a transfer student.
  • Check which of your transfer credits have already been counted towards your BCom degree through your Workday Student profile under Academic > Transfer Credit.
  • Please note that we are working on updating the Academic Progress Report (APR) requirements in Workday Student. Please avoid relying on the APR until further update.

Book an advising appointment

Need advice about course planning?

  • Talk to an academic advisor if you need help. Use the online self-serve system to book an advising appointment.
  • Need to cancel or reschedule? Check your email confirmation. In just a couple of clicks, you can easily cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Workday Student

Starting 2024, UBC will be transitioning from the Student Service Centre to Workday Student. We might not have all the answers yet, but the Undergraduate Office will be regularly updating our Workday Student webpage with any information or resources that is shared with our office. For technical support, please fill out this request form.

Making travel plans

Your exam schedule will be available midway through the term of study. If you are making advance travel plans before the exam schedule is published, assume that you may be writing your last exam on the last possible date and time during the exam week. The Undergraduate Office will not grant concessions due to conflicting travel arrangements.
