How to access Job IQ Explorer

  1. Log in to the UBC Sauder Career Hub using your CWL.
  2. Select Job IQ Explorer from the left navigation menu.
  3. Select Internship or Post Graduation to explore the corresponding data.

What can you explore?

Job IQ Explorer includes several interactive dashboard tiles that allow you to dig into internship and post-graduation data by program, industry, function, employer, grad year, and more.

By default, you’ll see UBC Sauder data only, but you can adjust the filters to also explore employment outcomes from participating Canadian, U.S., and European business schools.

Job IQ Explorer Tiles:

Hires by Location (Map)See where UBC Sauder students and alumni are working across Canada and around the world using an interactive hiring map.
Job Details Select the different tabs in the tile to explore Hires or Base Salary by: Industry, Function, Employer, Location.
Compensation SummaryAdjust the filters at the top of the dashboard to explore different aspects of compensation, including: Base Salary, Signing Bonus, Guaranteed Bonus.
Offer TimingSee which months students typically receive their internship, and full-time job offers to help plan your job search.
Offer TrendsExplore Hires and Compensation trends to see how hiring and pay evolve year over year.
Job Source See how most students found their opportunities, including job boards, networking, and events.

Where does the data come from?

Job IQ Explorer uses anonymous internship and post-graduation employment outcomes shared by UBC Sauder students and recent alumni through the Career Hub’s Internship and Post-Sauder questionnaires.

The database includes outcomes from undergraduate and graduate students, across UBC Sauder’s programs, including: BCom, MBA, Master of Management (MM), Master of Business Analytics (MBAN).

To protect students' and graduates' privacy, all information is kept confidential and only reported in anonymous and aggregate form. Results may not appear when there aren’t enough responses for specific attributes.

Every internship and post-graduation outcome shared in the Career Hub helps improve the Job IQ Explorer for future UBC Sauder students.

Throughout your degree, you'll be invited to report your:

  • Internship/Co-op experiences
  • Post-Sauder plans (within 6 months of finishing your program)

You can update your information at any time as your plans change.

Report your Internship/Co-op or Post-Sauder plans:

  1. Log in to the Career Hub.
  2. On your homepage, scroll to locate the Jobs and Job Offers tile.
  3. Select + Report Status.
  4. Complete the applicable short questionnaire.

Hiring Data FAQs:

1. How is my privacy protected?

 All responses submitted through the Internship/Co-op and Post-Sauder questionnaires are kept confidential and reported only in anonymous, aggregate form to protect your privacy. 

2. Why does UBC Sauder collect this information? 

Your responses help:

  • Power Job IQ Explorer with real UBC Sauder employment outcomes 

  • Support current and future students with career planning 

  • Contribute towards the School’s accreditation: The UBC Sauder School of Business is required to collect employment information from every graduating student in accordance with our AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation. These accreditations are very important for the School and for our global reputation. The Business Career Centre reports this data at an aggregate level. 

  • Inform the Business Career Centre’s programming and services 

  • Inform prospective students about the UBC BCom program via promotional materials that use aggregate hiring data  

3. Will someone contact me after I report?

If you report your status as "Seeking Employment" in the Post-Sauder questionnaire, a Career Strategist may contact you via email to offer job search support.
