Course Description

An organization's ultimate success depends on how efficiently and effectively it executes its strategic goals. This requires a detailed understanding of the processes used to produce and deliver goods and/or services to customers including:

• Process analysis
• Queuing systems
• Project management
• Inventory management
• Supply chain management

Responsible Business Content

This course addresses responsible business and sustainable business development by examining how operations and supply chain decisions affect resource use, service delivery, and stakeholder outcomes. Applications may include improved capacity planning in health care delivery, as well as effective and responsible resource allocation in supply chain management.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the managerial tools needed to understand and articulate the impact of an organization's business processes, and the ability to analyze and continuously improve these business processes.

Prerequisite: One of COMM_V 190, COMM_V 290 and one of COMM_V 191, COMM_V 291.
