Digital Media Lab
The Digital Media Lab (CLC 221) is equipped with four dual-screen Apple Mac workstations with access to premiere video, photo, and audio editing software. It also offers a soundproof recording room, a high-quality scanner, and a video-capture station.
UBC Sauder students can sign up for workshops, access software guides and resources through logging into CLC: Online, and reviewing the Digital Media Lab page.
Lab Policies
The Digital Media Lab is only able to be used by current UBC Sauder students, and access is granted through your CWL credentials. If you have any questions, please reach out to Fei Song, Investment Labs Coordinator (fei.song@sauder.ubc.ca).

Ethical/Appropriate Use of Data
All data should be accessed, used, and shared in accordance with UBC policies and legal
regulations.Users must adhere to strict ethical standards when using data and software.
Unauthorized manipulation, distribution, or misuse of data and software is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action.
No Food/Drink
- Absolutely no food is allowed in the lab.
- Only sealed water bottles for drinks are permitted. Cups with straws or holes are not accepted.
Responsible Use
- Do not unplug any cords or alter the equipment setup in any way.
- Priority use is given to patrons who need access to the computer's specialized financial software.
- Do not remove or rearrange the furniture in the lab.
Conduct
Conversations are allowed, keep a reasonable volume to maintain a conducive learning environment.
Maintain a respectful demeanor towards all lab users and staff.
Refrain from any disruptive behavior that could disturb others.
Clean up your workspace before leaving. Dispose/recycle of any trash properly.
Respect others' privacy and work. Do not look at or interfere with other users' screens or materials
Consequences
- Failure to comply with these policies may result in being asked to leave the lab.
This policy is intended to supplement other UBC policies. Inappropriate use of the lab space or financial software may result in more serious consequences as outlined in other policies.
