Academic success coaching
Academic Success Coaching is a service designed to help students improve their overall academic habits and confidence by way of one-on-one conversations with an upper-year BCom student.
January: Academic Strategy Sessions
Work one on one with a coach to create a personalized academic strategy for the upcoming term. Topics covered will include study habits, time management and prioritization, and goal setting.
February-March: Academic Success Coaching
Academic Success Coaching is designed to help students improve their overall academic performance by way of one on one conversations with an upper-year BCom student.
At a coaching session, coaches will be prepared to discuss a wide variety of academic goals that you want to work toward and/or challenges you may be facing. Coaches have access to a wide number of physical worksheets and resources on time management, prioritization, goal setting, and more.
- Starting January 14th, 2019: Mondays 1:00pm-2:30pm, Tuesdays 1:00pm-3:00pm and Thursdays 12:30pm-1:00pm and 2:00pm-3:00pm.
- Location: The CLC in room 205.
- Register in COOL.
Tips and tricks from the coaches:
Study the hard stuff first. As you get closer to the test, you'll know what you need to review more closely.
Try explaining tricky concepts out loud to a friend or classmate. This will help the information stick better than just reading or writing it down.
Take a break or go for a walk! Getting rest, staying active, and taking time to eat a balanced meal will all help you focus and improve information retention.
