CLC - Math Coaching (MATH 104, MATH 110, MATH 184)

Math Coaching provides bookable/drop in open coaching hours for individuals or small groups to get assistance for first-year math courses. Students may bring homework to work on in the space and request assistance as-needed, or can seek out a Coach for specific support on a difficult concept or challenge they are experiencing.

This service is the same in nature to the Math Learning Centre in LSK, but is offered in-house with a focus on the math courses required for BCom students, and the Coaches themselves are upper-year BCom students

CLC - Writing Coaching

Staffed by professional Communication Coaches, writing coaching provides assistance to students of all years and ability levels on both a one-on-one and small group basis.

Students can get help with composition, as well as constructive feedback on professional and academic writing assignments.

While students are encouraged to bring a piece of written, academic work with them to use during their appointment, this is not an editing service.

CLC - Academic Success Coaching: Academic Strategy

Academic Success Coaching is designed to help student improve their overall academic performance by way of one on one conversations with an upper-year BCom student.

At an Academic Strategy coaching session, coaches will be prepared to discuss a wide variety of academic goals you want to work toward or challenges you may be facing. You will leave this session with a strategic plan to work on over the coming weeks. If this is your first appointment and you’re unsure where to start, this is a great option.

Peer Assisted Study Sessions are one hour-long, small group sessions (3-12 people) that help students develop deeper knowledge of course material and practice effective study strategies for course content.

Sessions are led by upper-year students, and are planned in advance based on specific course content/topics. These topics will be posted on each course’s Canvas page in advance, and typically run one week behind in-class content.
